What Happens at the Self Centre?

A Listening Ear

Even when you are surrounded by support, the idea of sharing your true feelings with those you care about can be appear daunting. Self Centre Counselling will provide you with a listening ear who offers empathy and is without judgement or bias.

Person Centred Counselling

Person Centred Counselling is the foundation for creating a therapeutic relationship between You as the client and Me as the counsellor. You are the expert of your story and you will lead the sessions, approaching what you wish to discuss at your own pace.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps us to look at the ways that your thoughts and behaviours are interacting with each other. There may be some thought processes which are directing behaviours that you wish to change and CBT is one of the ways that I can help you to make some long term changes and support you to achieve your goals.

Psychodynamic and Psycho Educational Therapy

Have you ever considered the impact that your past may be having on your present and your future? The Psychodynamic approach looks back as far to your early childhood experiences to see what influences they have on your present circumstances.
Psychoeducational therapy is also a technique used to help educate you about how the body and mind work together. This can help you understand how some of your reactions to challenges have been based on your instincts which are designed to keep you safe.

A Safe Space

Self Centre Counselling delivers therapy online or over the phone. I offer an uninterrupted safe space where what you have to say will be kept confidential unless safeguarding concerns arise. This will all be discussed in the initial session where a contract will be signed outlining an agreement about how information will be stored and what you can expect from me.
